School Goal Reflection - Daniella
My term 2 goal was to get better at using full stops and capital letters. I am not better at this yet because I'm not yet using them in my writing. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't and I want to use them properly all the time.
This goal is still important to me because it will help me become a better writer.

My school goal are to read carefully and think what the big idea is. I completed my goal because it is easy to know the Big idea is and reading carefully.
Harrison smart goals reflection
One of my smart goals was to learn my times tables by week 9.
I know lots of my times tables that's one of my goals for next term.
My next goal is to make my bed every day and tidy my room. I've done that a lot and that's my second goal.
My third smart goal was to make a friend and I've sort of done that I've made a friend George and Charile and Harry and that's it, thats my third goal and all my smart goals.
School Goal Reflection - Spelling - Emma
My school goal for term 2 was to sound out words when I'm trying to spell them correctly. I do this by sounding out the beginning, middle and end of words by week 8.
I think that I am better at sounding out words that I am not sure of now because I did it with the word 'because'! I am using more interesting words in my writing!
School Goal Reflection - Charlotte
My school goal in tearm 2 was to learn my times tables by practising. This goal will take 10 weeks and when I have a test and pass that is how I know I've met it!
I haven't met this goal yet because it was too big. Next time I will set a goal that is smaller, for example to know my 7 and 8 times tables.

What we did today
Today we did some normal stuff. We did thinking hats and we did black hat, yellow hat and red hat. We worked as a team. Black hat means judgement. Red hat means feelings and yellow hat means benefits. We were using the hats to think about whether the blog was useful or not.
Also, Beth came in. She's learning to be a teacher. She wanted to know a bit more about blogs. We all said things that helped how to blog and why we blog. We chose Lucy, George and Logan to talk to Beth. Unfortunately the internet wasn't working very well.
Today we also wrote something about what we could do for our assembly. Our assembly is next week. Hope to see you there.

What makes good feedback?
Lately we've been talking about what feedback is and how it helps our learning. Today we had a practice at giving each other quality feedback as comments on posts on this blog. Here are some of our ideas:
What is Feedback?
How does feedback help our learning?
Great feedback has...
What is Feedback?
- It is kind of like if I clicked on someone's ideas and wrote a comment, it is feeding back what they need to work on (Gracie).
- You are giving a letter to someone (Na-myung).
- Sort of like a goal (Ella).
- What a person says about you (Emma).
- Someone does something new, and you tell them how good it was (Logan).
- If you forget something, it is alright to keep going (Na-myung).
- If you write something and you want to change it then you can (Kendra).
How does feedback help our learning?
- It helps your brain to think of things (Liam).
- It helps our learning by helping us with what we need to do next (Ella).
- It helps your learning when you do lots of writing (Lois).
- It's when you tell someone what they need to work on (Gracie).
- If someone doesn't know something, you can help them with an example (Tom).
Great feedback has...
- A positive statement at the beginning that highlights something they did well.
- Ideas for what they could do next time to improve or get better. For example:
- Something you could improve on for next time is...
- A next step is...
- Next time, you could...
